  • Crystal Backus-Peterson

    President & Director

    Crystal Backus-Peterson is the founder, president and director of Punk Arts and Culture. She is a talented UCLA graduate with a passion for visual storytelling and collaboration. Crystal is the co-founder of the Inside Cell 63 exhibit and passionate about creating spaces and curating experiences that preserve punk’s history, honoring its grassroots spirit through thoughtful design and immersive storytelling.

  • Nathan Peterson

    Co-Founder & Director

    Nathan is the director and co-founder of Punk Community & Arts, founder of the 1990s punk venue Cell 63, and owner of Nathan’s Tattoos & Piercings. A longtime fixture in the scene, he has toured with numerous punk bands and ran his own independent record label. Nathan is passionate about passing the torch to future generations of punks and preserving the DIY spirit that built punk from the ground up.

  • Cheyanne Washington

    Contributing Archivist & Director

    Cheyanne Washington is a Pepperdine University graduate with a degree in History. She led the research and archiving efforts for the Inside Cell 63 exhibit, preserving the story of underground punk venues in the San Fernando Valley. Her work blends historical scholarship with cultural preservation and community storytelling.
